Here are just some of the many special activities happening during 2017 Spring NH Open Doors weekend!

Canterbury: Canterbury Shaker Village celebrates its season opening with a  heifer parade, outdoor barn dancing and other family activities.  Saturday is Alpaca Shearing Day at Someday Alpaca Farm. Enjoy live fiddle music, food, art, and shopping at the Canterbury Center Bed and Breakfast. Explore the nature trails and build a fairy house at Petals in the Pines. See a wood spoon carving demonstration at Old Ways Traditions. Sample food at Marsh Meadow Bison and Fox Country Smokehouse, and spirits at Cold Garden Spirits. Hanover: The League of NH Craftsmen Hanover Fine Craft Gallery, located at 13 Lebanon Street in downtown Hanover, is hosting a Taste of the League event, featuring a exhibition of beautiful new work by craft artists Deirdre Donnelly (jeweler) and Tarja Cockell (fiber artist). Our opening reception is Friday, May 5 from 5-7pm. Blake Hill Preserves and Sunset Rock Goat Cheese will have samples for you to taste! For more info visit wwwhanoverleague.org. T

Capital Region: New Hampshire’s capital city, Concord, is hosting several arts-oriented activities during Spring NH Open Doors. Capital Arts Fest is a day-long celebration of the city’s newly revitalized downtown as an arts and cultural destination, featuring numerous events, live demonstrations, musical performances, tours and more. The League of NH Craftsmen’s headquarters in downtown Concord is hosting a fine craft exhibition in its Gallery called Pushing the Limits, and League members will be demonstrating their craft during Spring NH Open Doors weekend.

Along North Main Street, shop for fine craft at the League of NH Craftsmen Fine Craft Gallery and art, souvenirs, gourmet food, and more at Marketplace New England. See the work of local artists at Mill Brook Gallery & Sculpture Garden.

Just outside of Concord, see artists and craftsmen at work at Cornerstone Design at TWIGGS Gallery (Boscawen), End of the Road Artists (Loudon), and Julie Schroppel Glass in Contoocook. Roberts Greenhouse (Webster) has a beautiful array of flowers, as well as wool products and beef.  Use this itinerary to see these participants.
